As we all know ,sand filter is the most common, durable, and cost-effective type used in both residential and commercial pools.Firstly, the sand filter is typically made of durable, corrosion-resistant fiberglass (FRP) & resin or polyethylene. So it is in economic cost and easy maintenance.Lots people choose the sand filter.

The sand filter is a type of water filter that uses a bed of special-grade silica sand as the filtration medium to trap dirt, debris, and small particles from swimming pool water. The operation revolves around a multi-port valve that directs the flow of water.
Here are three main functions on the process.

1. Filtration (Filter)

Path: Water from the pool → Pump → Multi-port valve (set to "FILTER") → Top of the filter tank.

Action: The water is forced down through the bed of fine sand. The tiny gaps between the sand grains trap and hold suspended particles as small as 20-40 microns (this is about the size of fine silt or some bacteria).

Result: The now-clean water passes through a set of laterals (strainers) at the bottom of the tank and is returned to the pool.

2. Backwash

Over time, the trapped debris clogs the sand, increasing pressure and reducing flow. Backwash function cleans the sand.

Path: Water from the pool → Pump → Multi-port valve (set to "BACKWASH") → Bottom of the filter tank.

Action: Water flows upward through the sand bed, churning and fluffing it. This releases the trapped dirt and debris.

Result: The dirty water is sent out through a waste line, usually to a drain or a designated area in your yard.

3. Rinse

After backwash, the sand bed is unsettled, and some dirty water remains in the pipes. Rinsing re-settles the sand and prevents sending debris back to the pool.
